Most of them began long before we arrived.
Shared Ground was inspired by an ancient bristlecone pine growing above 9,500 feet in Colorado's North Park. After standing beside that tree, it was impossible not to think about everyone who had come before us. Indigenous peoples, hunters, ranchers, hikers, families, and countless others have all stood on the same ground. None of us truly own it. We simply spend a little time caring for it before someone else takes our place.
The words printed in this piece are meant to slow you down. They're a reminder that stewardship isn't just about trees or landscapes. It's about how we treat the people around us, the places we love, and the legacy we leave behind.
Printed on museum-quality canvas and framed in sustainably sourced pine, this piece was made for homes, offices, cabins, and spaces where conversations matter.
